About my practice.

I support people experiencing change to realize their strengths and create a path forward. Along with verbal processing, I offer a space for creative musical expression as a source of insight and awareness. When thought patterns become blocked or stuck in a loop, creative expression opens new doors. In sessions together, we will balance verbal and creative processing to best fit your needs, and work together towards meaningful change.

My practice is informed by over a decade of clinical work and research. As a clinician, I have worked in NYC hospitals and private rehabilitation centers to provide care for adults experiencing medical and psychiatric conditions. This work was focused on addressing emotional wellbeing through periods of profound change. I have also worked with child development programs supporting needs related to autism and other developmental delays. As a researcher, I completed a PhD in Rehabilitation Sciences at New York University with a fellowship from the National Institutes of Health. My doctoral research focused on emotional and social processes of change following stroke, with emphasis on neurophysiological mechanisms engaged by music making to promote wellbeing.

I completed a masters degree in music therapy at New York University with advanced training in clinical improvisation. I am a licensed creative arts therapist (LCAT) and board-certified music therapist (MT-BC). In addition to my private practice, I am a clinician and research scientist at the Nordoff-Robbins Center for Music Therapy, where my work has been supported by the Renée Fleming NeuroArts Investigator Award and the Mid-Atlantic Region of the American Music Therapy Association. I am also adjunct faculty at New York University in the Departments of Psychology and Music and Performing Arts Professions.
